Work with me
The workshops
You come out of the water knowing what you did and why it worked.
Six divers, one weekend, and two dives with me in the water with you. By Sunday you are positioning yourself instead of chasing, lighting the subject instead of the water in front of it, and looking at your own material thinking that this one is good, I have the shots, I can see the sequence.
What a weekend looks like
Friday evening is theory, and it is the evening that makes the rest of the weekend work.
Saturday morning we go over your dive gear and your camera.
This is the time to deal with the thing you already know is not right: the weight you keep meaning to move, the strap that catches, the setting you have never understood.
Then the first dive.
Saturday afternoon we go through the material together, and that is where you find out what you did not get.
Sunday you go back in and get it.
Who it is for
A diver with a camera who has decided on video. Enough dives that the teaching lands. Your buoyancy is sorted and you care about the environment we explore. Any camera at all. Mindset - Open to learning. Figure out what it is you want and try something new instead of repeating what is not working.
How the diving actually works
Six divers in the water and one of me.
I am there watching, and I move between you depending on the visibility and what each buddy team needs that day.
Ask for me and you get me.
Sometimes I will come to you first, because I have seen something you have not.
What you leave with
You know what to do on each dive, even when every dive is different.
Because the strategy does not change.
You need the same types of shot every time to tell a story.
That is what you keep.
What it is not
It will not make you cinematographer in a weekend, and it will not make you an editor.
Editing is a study of its own.
I will introduce editing properly and get you to a finished story, and I will guide you on your continuing journey.
The online course
The same method, at your own pace, wherever you dive.
For divers who cannot get to Norway, and for anyone who wants the thinking settled before they arrive at a workshop.
Everything except the water, which is the one part I cannot send you. In production now.

Speaking and film work
Talks, and underwater camera work.
Talks for dive clubs, federations, schools and events, in Norwegian or English. And underwater camera operation, expedition support and video chronicling for productions.
Thirty years of it, on seven continents.
